Watermans packs a punch thanks to new signing, Team Scotland Boxer Lewis Benson

As one of Scotland’s most successful personal injury claims specialists Watermans Accident Claims and Care know all about fighting to be the people’s champion. Now the Edinburgh headquartered firm is teaming up with an aspiring world champion aiming to claim gold at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

The company is backing Team Scotland Boxer Lewis Benson, already a three-time Scottish champion and current UK title-holder, who will represent the nation in the 69kg Welterweight class in Glasgow this July.

Lewis approached Watermans, who are based close to Lochend Boxing Club where he trains, about backing his bid for medal success having left his job as an electrician to train full-time for the Games.
Watermans managing director Scott Whyte was so impressed by the 22-year-old’s commitment and determination that the company has now become his title sponsor.

“As soon as Lewis started talking about his plans you could tell there was something special about him,” explained Scott.

“He is totally focussed on success and has taken an incredibly professional approach to preparing for his shot at the big time.

“We feel that these qualities match our own company ethos very closely, and decided we should do everything we can to help him win gold.

“We will be backing him all the way and looking forward to see him fight and win on behalf of Edinburgh and Scotland.”

Lewis has recently returned from a successful training camp in Australia with Team Scotland, where he won two practice bouts, and is leaving no stone unturned in his quest to be 100% ready to compete at the highest level of amateur boxing this summer.
