Watermans Fundraise with Cash for Kids This May

This May, Watermans are teaming up with Radio Forth’s Cash for Kids initiative to fundraise for children and young people across Edinburgh, The Lothians and Fife.

Our team have pledged to take part in Cash for Kids’ “5K A Day in May” event, raising money for disadvantaged youths in our local communities.

Cash for Kids are a grant-making charity who support and assist disadvantaged children and vulnerable young people UK-wide. Their mission is to improve the lives of those affected by poverty, illness, or neglect, helping them to experience a childhood that they will remember for all the right reasons.

To help Cash for Kids to make a difference for these young people, Watermans will be fundraising by completing their “5K A Day in May” initiative. To do this, our team members will complete 5km of exercise every day in the month of May, be it walking, jogging, or cycling.

Why are Watermans taking part this year?

At Watermans, giving back to our local community is something we care strongly about. Helping disadvantaged young people to grow and move forward with their lives is something very close to our hearts, and Radio Forth’s Cash for Kids initiative is the perfect opportunity for us to play a part in this.

The 5K A Day challenge also poses an opportunity for our team to adopt a healthier lifestyle, getting outside in the fresh air to improve both our physical and mental well-being. Speaking about the challenge set by Radio Forth, our Head of People and Operations Caroline Bennie says

“Our team have been quick to sign up to participate in the challenge. We love supporting local causes and the ‘5K A Day in May’ also gives us a wonderful opportunity to get in our daily exercise, whilst enjoying the benefits getting outside brings to our physical and mental health.”

You can donate to Cash for Kids and follow our team’s progress on our official social media platforms. Any donation, no matter what size, will make a difference to the lives of the younger members of our community, and your support would be truly valued by both the Cash for Kids charity and our team at Watermans.
