Q&A with Competitive Swimmer Hannah Miley

Could you describe 2015 in five words?

Challenging, exciting, committed, preparation, swimming.

What have been your sporting highlights/most satisfying moment?

Qualifying for the World Championships in April for the 400 individual medley and winning the British national title for the 200fly for the first time! Just missed being on the podium for the 400IM at the world championships in July.

What was your toughest challenge?

Over coming the feeling of disappointment after my main event at the world championships in the summer. I felt that I had let people down, been working on my psychology to change my perspective and I feel a lot more positive and bouncing back. It’s been hard but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Outside of sport, what were your personal highlights?

We had a new edition to the family on Christmas 2014 so watching Flo grow up and become part of our family has been one of the best things to happen to us.

What are your goals for 2016?

My goal is to qualify for the Olympic Games and compete in Rio. But more importantly to be happy and enjoy the journey, be honest and hard working but making sure that I can still smile.

Finally, if you could sum up your plans for 2016 in one word what would it be?

Rio!!!
