Hussain Iqbal

Hussain completed his LLB (Hons) in Scots Law at the University of Edinburgh, before achieving his Diploma in Professional Legal Practice online at Robert Gordon University.

After graduating, Hussain gained practical experience working as a VAT Associate at an accountancy firm, and then as a Legal Analyst at a law firm.

"Both roles gave me fantastic practical experience, helping me to build my confidence and confirmed to me that a career in law was exactly what I wanted to pursue. That journey has ultimately led me to Watermans!

"I'm excited to continue working closely with everyone at Watermans. From the moment I joined, the team has been incredibly welcoming and supportive, and it’s made settling in really easy. I’m looking forward to learning from those around me while playing my part in helping clients through what can often be a difficult time."

"Outside of work, you’ll usually find me doing something active. Whether it’s the gym, swimming, running or a game of badminton, I love keeping fit and keeping busy.

"A fun fact about me is that during the COVID lockdowns I somehow ended up importing a Mercedes from Japan! What started as a bit of curiosity turned into a project where I learned everything from the import process to getting the car on UK roads. It definitely kept me occupied - and taught me that I enjoy getting stuck into something completely new.”

Best thing about your job

"I’m really looking forward to continuing to develop my own caseload throughout my traineeship. I’ve already had the opportunity to get involved from day one, and I’m excited to keep building my confidence, taking on more responsibility and learning as I go.
