WEEK ONE

MONDAY

Started on Monday at 0700 with a 3.5 mile run to start my day, before heading to work at Watermans at 0900. Finished work at lunchtime before heading to the Lochend Boxing Gym for a class – 4 x 3min round of weighted shadow boxing followed by 6 rounds on bags and then 6 on pad work, finished off with abs and skipping.

Home to chill out before my last session at 1900 which was running intervals and circuit training.

The first day was really hard and my body got a big shock after a decent break – tough but all good!

TUESDAY

Started at 0700 with a 3.5mile run to start the day, before heading into work. Finished work at 1300 and went straight to Lochend for a boxing class – today it was 4 x 3min round of weighted shadow boxing followed by 4 rounds on bags and 2 rounds on speedball then 6 on pad work finished off with abs and skipping. Home to chill out before my last session at in the evening which was a normal gym session followed by swimming (I’m a really bad swimmer!!)

WEDNESDAY

As usual started the day with a run to start my day – my whole body was in agony! No time to rest though as I headed off to Watermans at 0900. Finished work at lunchtime before heading over to Lochend for more training – 4 x 3min round of weighted shadow boxing followed by 6 rounds on bags and then 4 on pad work finished off with abs and skipping.

After a few hard days back in the gym I was given the night off by Terry (my coach) to chill out as we didn’t want to overdo it. Can’t wait to get my feet up!

THURSDAY

No rest for the wicked! Back to it – started with my usual run before heading to work for 0900. Finished work at one o’clock and before heading to Lochend for a boxing class: started with 2 rounds of interval running on flat then 2 rounds of interval running on the steps before going into 3 x 3min round of weighted shadow boxing. I then followed up with 6 rounds on bags and then 5 on pad work finished off with pull-ups, dips and abs circuits then finished with a little skipping – what a sesh!

Instead of anymore gym work in the evening I headed the swimming pool for bit of a swim, followed by a great steam – a brilliant way to ease all those aches and pains!

FRIDAY

After all the work this week my body is in bits – I can hardly walk! My morning run got cut down to 2.5 miles before heading to Watermans for the morning. At Lochead, Terry had no sympathy for me asking for an easy day! So off we went as normal: shadow boxing followed by 3 rounds of ladder work for my footwork and speed drills. Then I went onto the bags and did 6×3 min rounds and then 4 rounds on the pads. Finished with a bit of work on the speedball and ab work.

Then that was me done for the day… at last!

SATURDAY

Got a long lie-in as I didn’t need to be in the gym until 1100. Started off with 3 rounds of shadow boxing followed by bag work intervals with Terry which were 10 seconds normal boxing, 10 second power, 10 second speed and just kept going through it for 7 rounds. After that we finished with a 15 min circuit.

After that I was done for the day and just chilled out with my friends.

SUNDAY – rest day

I’ve been eating really healthily all week, but as you can imagine with all the training I’ve been eating loads of carbs, usually five times a day! No weight loss this week, but hoping to see a change by next Monday.
