David Adams, Senior Solicitor, recently attended the Limitations Act seminar in Edinburgh:
“The recent change in the law in relation to limitation as regards historic abuse claims is to be welcomed. For too long the law, as regards limitation, has failed to appreciate the difficulties and trauma which those survivors who seek to pursue damages face. The lifting of the limitation period will not only allow for survivors to be mentally prepared for the challenges which bringing legal proceedings presents, but also afford them the time required when investigating and preparing a case which, far too often, concerns events of several decades ago. At Watermans, not only are we prepared for the challenges that these cases will present on the legal front, but we will ensure that clients are fully supported throughout the process with the benefit of our Total Care offering.”
