We asked Jacquie to answer a few questions as part of our International Women’s day celebrations at Watermans.
Who is your female icon and what makes them iconic?
My female icon without doubt is my Mother, Margaret. Every day of my life she has encouraged and supported me no matter what. A few little life lessons she’s taught me along the way are; to be a little bit braver, you got this, you won’t know until you try and I’m here for you.
What does feminism mean to you?
Today we recognise and support our sisters across the globe. Together, with one voice, we can break barriers and stand together for equality. No matter how small, we can all make a difference to create a change for good.
How has your industry changed over the years?
The industry has changed dramatically over the years, COVID has certainly been a catalyst for new technology innovations with the virtual valuation and home tours. The only thing that has been a constant throughout the years is the people we work with, we are in the people business and if you deliver a high consistent level of service, good news will travel fast.
What further steps do you consider need to be made to achieve true equality for women in this country?
True equality starts a grass root level at home, we should teach our daughters to reach for the stars.
