About you

Applicants for the position of Personal Injury Solicitor must share our commitment to providing straightforward advice to our clients.

We welcome applications from candidates who;

  • have been qualified and working for at least three years in a personal injury role, including handling cases relating to road traffic accidents, fatal accidents, accidents at work, medical negligence and product liability claims
  • exhibit sound knowledge of the personal injury claims process, legislation and protocol
  • have excellent communication and negotiation skills, to achieve favourable outcomes for our clients
  • are highly organised and enjoy managing their own caseload

About the role

As a Personal Injury Solicitor at Watermans, you will be responsible for your own high-volume caseload. You will also be required to meet with clients and attend Court as necessary.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • managing your own varied caseload of personal injury claims, including but not limited to road traffic accidents, fatal accidents, accidents at work, product liability, and industrial illness claims
  • efficient handling of cases from initial instruction through to settlement, including the preparation of court documents and use of the company’s case management system
  • providing clear, straightforward legal advice to your clients
  • conducting negotiations, liaising with insurers, experts and council, and appearing in court as required
  • ensuring compliance with GDPR and Law Society of Scotland requirements, along with firm procedures

The salary for this role is competitive, and you will have access to the company bonus scheme and private healthcare. The position is full-time and is based in our Edinburgh office, however we can be flexible on location for the right candidate.

About the role

As an IT Support Analyst at Watermans, you will support and enhance the delivery of IT services across the firm. This role is ideal for someone with solid hands-on experience in a Service Desk environment, who is keen to get stuck in and play an active part in evolving Watermans growing IT function.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Being the first point of contact for IT queries within the business
  • Delivering high-quality, straightforward tech support both onsite across our four offices, and remotely
  • Diagnosing and resolving incidents relating to hardware, software, networking, end-user devices and business applications
  • Providing account management support, assisting with tasks such as user creation, password resets and permissions
  • Maintaining devices such as laptops, desktops, and mobile devices
  • Identify, manage, and resolve incidents or issues accurately
  • Streamlining onboarding and offboarding of team members to ensure fast and accurate setup across the Watermans tech stack
  • Improving the induction program to give new team members the tech essentials and support the need from day one
  • Work with the Head of IT to refine IT processes and workflows, and to implement best practices aligned with ITIL principles

This is a full-time role, based in our Edinburgh office, however you may occasionally be required to work from one of our other offices in Dundee, Dunfermline or Glasgow. We offer hybrid working options, and you will have access to private healthcare.
