Watermans joins forces with Cash for Kids for charity skydive
This Cash for Kids Day, May 2nd, 20 fearless teammates from Watermans and friends of Watermans, Foz Sports, Electrical Asset Services, Simpson Motors, Prop Cap Finance, Hunter Wealth Management and Shepherds Surveyors, will be taking part in a Skydive. The goal is to raise £20,000 to support Cash for Kids who are on a mission to battle holiday hunger.
The free lunches children get in school are often the only meal some children have that day. This leaves 90 days of school holidays per year where children could go hungry, rising to 170 days when you include weekends. Cash for Kids is there to help those in need who are right on our doorsteps. Donations to The Watermans Skydive will ensure children have enough food to eat during the summer holidays.
At the time of writing, The “Watermans Platoon”, consisting of Watermans staff and friends of the company, are £25 shy of their £20,000 target! Before they’ve even taken to the skies.
When Rosie “The Aviator” Ashman, Digital Marketing Assitant at Watermans, was asked how she was feeling in the lead-up to the big day she said,
“The version of me who signed up to do a skydive was clearly feeling reckless – I’m that scared of heights that I struggle to stand on a ladder to read my electricity meter. So yeah – terrified doesn’t cut it.”
Evie “Eeeek – what have I just signed up for” Brown, Trainee Solicitor in Watermans Conveyancing team nervously added, “I don’t even know what to say… I’m so scared!”.
Captain Scott “Wingman” Whyte, Watermans Managing Director tried to calm the nerves and remind everyone why they were doing it by adding,
“We are excited to take this opportunity to support a great cause and hope that you can help us in meeting our target. Any support you can give us towards our goal is greatly appreciated. Let’s make a difference together!”
Watermans are incredibly grateful for the opportunity, and to be in the position, to help. They wish to thank everyone who’s donated so far for their generosity and encourage others to dig deep to help combat holiday hunger in our area where, unfortunately, 1 in 4 children are living in poverty.
