Despite only qualifying two and a half years ago, Shawn has become a vital part of the team at Watermans Legal. His achievements and list of successful cases makes for impressive reading. He is a driven, ambitious young lawyer with a big heart who treats a first-time buyer with the same level of respect and commitment as a large-scale property investor.
He has simultaneously grown the firm’s client base and the number of charitable donations it is able to provide. He has displayed a knack for identifying ways to get the very best result for his clients, which can involve additional work on his part but save his clients thousands and guarantee repeat work.
Through fully utilising a partnership between Hibernian FC and the firm, he has secured 15 new clients. He has been tasked with growing the number of Wills the business handles and has been key to increasing this by roughly 600% since he joined.
His exemplary track record in 2018 has seen him involved in some of Edinburgh’s largest property transactions and advise on high-value family law cases. As well as being a highly capable solicitor, Shawn has opened and grown several avenues of new business in conveyancing and property sales. He has also taken on almost 200 new cases this year alone, including the highest value case in the firm’s 30-year plus history.
Shawn’s growing reputation in the Scottish legal sector has also seen him become a go-to expert for insight among the press. He has been interviewed by BBC Radio Scotland to discuss the impact of guardianship offers on adults with mental health conditions. He has featured prominently in both The Scotsman and The Times discussing the impact of the land and building transactions tax (LBTT), the impact of Airbnb on the residential housing market and more.
Shawn now looks forward to furthering his achievements.
Good Luck Shawn!
