Kimberley Mackay
Head of Private Client Law
Kimberley studied at the University of Strathclyde before moving back to her hometown of Wick, Caithness where she trained and worked for 8 years in a small high street firm. Kimberley worked in a range of areas including both Conveyancing and Private Client. In addition to this, she was pleased to also have the role of honorary procurator fiscal depute appearing in Wick Sheriff Court. Kimberley relocated to Edinburgh in 2020 to specialise in Private Client work and was delighted to join the team at Watermans at the beginning of 2022 as Head of Private Client.
"Before I studied law I went to the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and graduated with a BA in Scottish Music which remains a passion of mine. I enjoy playing my fiddle at music sessions and going to live gigs in Edinburgh and Glasgow"
Best Thing About The Job
"I enjoy meeting different people and getting to know them and their individual circumstances. Planning for and talking about a time when you are no longer here is uncomfortable. I work hard to get the best plan in place for my clients, while understanding the sensitivities around talking about death. My clients often tell me that they have left our meeting feeling like a weight has been lifted from their shoulders."
Listened to Everything We Wanted
"A friend recommended Shawn, and we were very pleased with his service. He was very knowledgeable and listened to everything we wanted and helped us through it. I would definitely recommend him to all my friends making Wills and Powers of Attorney."
