A Scottish law firm has become the first north of the border to offer a new app created by a former candidate on the hit TV show The Apprentice.
Watermans Accident Claims and Care have teamed up with the Apprentice star Lauren Riley in her latest business venture, The Link App.
Lauren, a qualified solicitor who specialised in practising Family Law, first appeared on the BBC programme The Apprentice in 2014. She then went on to create her own app for law firms, which is offered as a free download on the Apple App Store.
The Link App offers an innovative way for clients to interact with the firm, giving users live updates of how their claim is being handled as well as offering a direct line of communication to their solicitor and/or claim handler.
Watermans Manging Director Scott Whyte emphasised the need for technological innovation in the industry to help improve clients’ experience during what could often be complex legal processes.
“The Link App will allow our clients to communicate with Watermans like never before, giving them the opportunity to check-in with the company to see how their case is progressing, no matter the time or day. This innovative approach will allow our team to handle cases more efficiently, giving us more time to devote to getting the best possible result for clients.”
CEO and Founder of The Link App, Lauren Riley says she was pleased to have extended the Link App into Scotland for the first time.
"It is always great to see the business growing. As a qualified lawyer I am particularly passionate about helping law firms and their clients use new technology to improve the way they interact. Law was a profession that used to have a reputation for being stuffy and reluctant to change, but the internet, tablets and smartphones are changing the way everyone does business and the best law firms are adapting quickly. Watermans are very enterprising and it was clear they had a real appetite to try something new, so I’m especially pleased The Link App will now be available in Scotland through them."
