Watermans MD named as Edinburgh’s Emerging Director of the Year
Scott Whyte, Watermans Managing Director, was last night honoured at Institute of Directors (IOD) Scotland Director of the Year awards in Glasgow, picking-up the award for Emerging Director of the Year for Edinburgh, Lothians & the Borders.
The IOD Awards are considered one of the Scottish business community’s most prestigious prizes, with many of the country’s premier organisations represented in the award categories.
Whilst making their recommendations the judges commented: “Despite challenging marketing conditions, and having only being at the helm since 2013, Scott has steered the business very ably, and posted year on year profit growth – his future is bright!”
Scott, who missed the ceremony due to having a well-earned family break in Mexico, said: “It’s an honour to receive an award like this, but it really is all down to the hard work of the great team we have at Watermans.
“They genuinely care for our clients, many of whom have had life-changing accidents, and our team’s expertise and dedication to helping them recover shines through on a daily basis. “That commitment has helped us to grow steadily over the past three years, and with an expanded team in Edinburgh and a new office recently opened in the heart of Glasgow we’re able to offer assistance to anyone unfortunate enough to have been involved in an accident right across the country.”
In Scott’s absence, Watermans Chairman and founder, Neil Waterman was delighted to collect the award on his behalf.
