As one of Scotland’s leading personal injury solicitors Watermans Accident Claims and Care act for a number of clients located in Glasgow and the surrounding area, but they will now have a permanent city centre base for the first time. The new office on West George Street will have an expert personal injury team featuring Susanne McGraw, a personal injury specialist from Thompson Scotland, along with Heather Tierney who is currently based in the firm’s Edinburgh office.
Despite Watermans’ east coast roots, Managing Director Scott Whyte, who has recently been nominated as a finalist at the IoD Scotland Director of the Year Awards, says because the west of Scotland region represents the company’s largest client base there is room for further growth. “This is a landmark moment for Watermans as we look to expand our operations in an area which is strategically important for the company. With the latest changes from the Court Reform Bill having a major effect on where and how people’s claims are heard, we need to have people on the ground to service communities in local Sheriff Courts.” “It also brings us closer to our existing clients in the west of Scotland and will allow us to offer increased local access to justice for people who have been involved in accidents and require legal representation.” “The move forms part of our continued expansion within the personal injury sector in Scotland and with the recruitment of Ross and Susanne we have further increased the expertise of an already talented team.”
Watermans converted from a partnership to a limited company in 2014. The company has built on the growth achieved by the partnership previously to record turnover in excess of £3 million in the past 12 months with further growth anticipated in the year ahead. The award winning company currently employs 28 staff across its Edinburgh and Glasgow offices.
